The Bald Eagle is one of the most impressive birds out there. It is not bald, it's "piebald", meaning it has white areas (or pigment-less areas). It's very easy to see why it was chosen as one of America's symbols. This photo was taken at Conowingo Dam in Maryland. My camera was dialed on the light falling on the river when suddenly I noticed this guy coming in between the trees. It was much darker there, about a stop and a half. It all happened very quickly so there was no tome to adjust the exposure. This is another reason why shooting RAW is better that JPG. RAW saved my life :)
